Who we are

Eric and Sarah - A couple of avid hunters who want to help you preserve your trophy as museum quality.

We love the outdoors. Hunting, fishing, hiking, you name it we want to be outdoors doing it. Eric is a marine corps veteran and a firefighter when not in the deer woods. Sarah is a registered nurse.

What we do

Skulls! We do skulls, and we only do skulls. Northwoods Taxidermy specializes in European mounts.

We clean skulls with flesh eating dermestid beetles. This is the absolute best way to preserve bones. These little powerhouse eaters eat the flesh without damaging even the most delicate of bones. Leaving even the nasal turbinates of a small varmint intact.

After the beetles are done with their work, the skull goes through a complete degreasing process. This process is very animal dependent. Some take a couple of weeks, others will take a few months - depending on species and age of the animal.

Once Sarah declares degreasing is complete (if she’s not happy then no one is happy), we do a whitening process - NOT bleaching. This ensures that your trophy is ready for display.
